I have been redeemed and forgiven ( Col 1:14). I have been adopted as God's child (Eph 1:5)
I belong to God
Do you know
Who you are?
Keep this bell ringing...pass it on
'The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you
And be gracious to you;
The LORD turn His face toward you
And give you peace...
Numbers 6:24-26

I hate being such a cynic sometimes but I received this in an e-mail today and something jumped out at me. Did you notice the focus or subject of each sentence is “I”. There is a subtle secular theological influence that has been occurring for many years that directs individuals to focus on themselves rather than The One who makes us special. E.g. John 1:12 (NIV) says “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” so it could also be said “God made me his child”. Many argue it is man’s reception or belief in Him (Jesus) that make us God’s children (which is may be true) but somewhere along the pages of history the church has moved away from Who God IS and focused more on Who You ARE. To me, it has become more of a self-help doctrine of faith rather than a Grace based faith.

Great point Jim. I just found your blog and was reading it and I thought this deserved a comment. I heard this speaker one time sing a song "It's not about me. It's all about God". That is something we all need to realize.
